Empowering Others
As a fitness professional, yoga instructor, and wellness advocate, my goal has always been to help people live healthier, stronger, and more confident lives. Whether I'm leading a yoga class, teaching a strength-training session, or guiding students through mindfulness practices, I believe education is one of the most powerful tools we can share with others.
That's why I'm excited to announce that I'm taking the next step in my professional journey by becoming a CPR trainer.
Many people assume CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation) is a skill reserved for healthcare professionals, first responders, or medical personnel. The reality is that anyone can learn CPR, and knowing what to do during an emergency can make the difference between life and death.
According to the American Heart Association, immediate CPR can significantly improve survival rates for someone experiencing cardiac arrest. Unfortunately, many bystanders hesitate to help because they don't feel confident in their abilities or have never received proper training.
I want to help change that.
Throughout my years teaching fitness and wellness programs, I've worked with people of all ages and abilities. I've taught active adults, seniors, beginners, and experienced athletes. One thing I've learned is that emergencies can happen anywhere—at a gym, a yoga studio, a community event, a workplace, or even at home.
By becoming a CPR trainer, I'll be able to provide accessible, hands-on education that helps people feel prepared rather than powerless during a crisis.
Learning CPR isn't just about memorizing steps. It's about building confidence, staying calm under pressure, and understanding how to respond when every second matters. It's about being willing to step forward and help a family member, friend, coworker, or even a stranger in need.
This new certification aligns perfectly with the mission of Yoga ATX. Yoga teaches us to be present, aware, and connected to our communities. CPR training extends those values beyond the yoga mat by giving people practical skills that can protect and support others.
As I complete my trainer certification, I look forward to offering CPR classes to individuals, fitness professionals, community groups, and organizations throughout the Austin area. My goal is to create a welcoming learning environment where participants can ask questions, practice skills, and leave feeling confident in their ability to respond during an emergency.
Knowledge is empowering, but knowledge that can save a life is truly invaluable.
I believe that wellness is about more than exercise and healthy habits. It's about creating stronger, safer communities where people look out for one another. Becoming a CPR trainer is one more way I can contribute to that mission and help others gain skills that could one day save a life.
I am excited for this next chapter and look forward to sharing this important training with our community. Together, we can build confidence, preparedness, and a culture of care—one class at a time.
