The countdown to Greece is officially on, and as our Paros retreat gets closer, the excitement is becoming very real. A retreat like this is more than a vacation. It is an opportunity to step away from your normal routine, reconnect with yourself, experience a new culture, and create memories with an incredible group of people.
As you prepare for our time together in Greece, here are a few things to expect mentally, physically, and culturally.
Prepare to Slow Down
One of the biggest adjustments may simply be giving yourself permission to slow down.
Our everyday lives tend to be filled with schedules, responsibilities, notifications, and constant movement. During the retreat, there will still be plenty to experience, but there will also be intentional opportunities to breathe, reflect, and enjoy where you are.
Daily yoga, meditation, journaling, shared meals, cultural experiences, and time to simply take in the beauty of Paros are all part of the experience.
You do not need to arrive with everything figured out. Come with an open mind and allow the retreat to unfold.
Prepare Your Body—Without Overtraining
You do not need to be an advanced yogi or athlete to enjoy this retreat.
Our yoga practices will be designed to support different bodies and experience levels. Listen to your body, take modifications when you need them, and remember that rest is always an option.
We will also be exploring Greece beyond the yoga mat. Expect walking, uneven streets, stairs, and adventures such as our Byzantine Road hike from Lefkes to Prodromos.
In the weeks before the retreat, regular walking and gentle mobility work can help your body feel more comfortable during the trip. Comfortable walking shoes will also be one of your best packing decisions!
Prepare to Experience Greece
Part of what makes this retreat special is that we are not simply visiting Greece—we are experiencing it.
Our time together will include opportunities to connect with Greek culture through food, art, movement, history, and local traditions. From a Greek cooking experience to painting, dancing, exploring the islands, and learning about traditional marble sculpting, each activity gives us another way to connect with the place we are visiting.
Traveling respectfully also means remembering that we are guests. Learning a few Greek phrases, being patient with different customs and schedules, and approaching new experiences with curiosity will make the journey even richer.
Prepare to Connect
Retreats have a wonderful way of bringing people together.
Some participants may arrive knowing each other, while others may be meeting everyone for the first time. Shared meals, yoga practices, excursions, conversations, and plenty of laughter naturally create connection.
There will also be space for quiet time. You are always encouraged to honor what you need.
Most Importantly, Come as You Are
You do not need to become more flexible, more spiritual, more adventurous, or more prepared before arriving.
Pack your comfortable clothes, walking shoes, swimsuit, journal, beach towel, and curiosity.
Then bring the most important thing: yourself.
Greece will provide the scenery. Our experiences will provide the adventure. And together, we will create a retreat filled with movement, culture, connection, reflection, and hopefully a little magic along the way.
Paros, we’re almost ready for you.
