Meet Mina Vera
Mina Vera is the founder of Yoga ATX, a wellness community dedicated to helping people build strength, confidence, and balance through movement. An E-RYT 200 and YACEP through Yoga Alliance, Mina has over 1,000 hours of teaching experience and is also a licensed Zumba instructor and NASM personal trainer. Her classes blend yoga, strength training, mobility, meditation, and cardio to create accessible, well-rounded experiences for students of all ages and fitness levels. She believes wellness should be enjoyable, sustainable, and tailored to the unique needs of each individual.
Mina lives in Pflugerville with her beloved Australian Shepherds and enjoys spending time outdoors paddle boarding, swimming, and exploring new adventures. Through Yoga ATX, she has expanded beyond traditional yoga offerings to include strength training, aqua fitness, mermaid experiences, CPR training, retreats, and continuing education programs for yoga teachers. Whether leading a local class in the Austin area or hosting transformational retreats in Greece and Italy, her goal is to create welcoming spaces where people can move, grow, connect, and thrive. Mina's holistic approach encourages participants to embrace wellness not as a destination, but as a lifelong journey.
Meet Misti Southerland
Since beginning her yoga journey, she has continued to deepen her education through a variety of specialized trainings. In 2021, she completed Brett Larkin's Uplifted Yoga Teacher Training, expanding her knowledge of modern yoga methodology, sequencing, and personal transformation. Her passion for connecting movement with nature led her to become a Certified Stand Up Paddleboard (SUP) Yoga Instructor in July 2022 with trainer Mina Vera at Lake Texoma (Oklahoma), bringing yoga beyond the studio and onto the water.
In 2025, she earned her Y12SR (Yoga of 12-Step Recovery) certification, equipping her to support individuals seeking healing, resilience, and connection through yoga - helping those that are still suffering in silence by offering more tools to recover. Today, she shares her experience alongside Mina Vera as a co-instructor for the 2026 Yoga ATX Greek Retreat in Paros, Greece, where she helps guide participants through a transformative journey of movement, mindfulness, culture, and personal growth.
